I work at the 'mart on third shift performing various duties, one of which is harassing shoplifters.
Well, this one joker comes in almost every night, stealing batteries, meth ingredients, CDs, you name it.
Ol' Squatch has the guy's number, however, and usually pops up and begins straightening the shelves somewhere close to him, hanging around, etc.
The other night, this guy was loitering around electronics. The manager was on to him so I just stayed working where I was. While I was on break he cussed a bunch of employees that were watching him and the managers finally ran him off.
On the way out the door, the guy says, "Tell that guy that's always watching me that I'm gonna catch him outside one of these days and skin his head! I'm gonna scalp him!"
Co-workers seemed to be more worried about it than I was. I was mostly worried that he had seen me get out of my vehicle and might do something to it.
People are crazy!

You must be talking about the Madison wal mart. It's scary some of the people I see in there late at night.

Tough talk, but definately keep your eyes open. Why don't you guys get him banned from the store, or a restraining order or something?

Tough talk, but definately keep your eyes open. Why don't you guys get him banned from the store, or a restraining order or something? They actually did call the cops this time, ( something I suggested over a year ago) and they said next time he shows up, call them and they can nab him for trespass. The problem is, he can just switch to coming in at day shift, where not all of them know him. I plan to be careful. I look around pretty good when I walk to the store at night, just in case he shows up with his buddies. I doubt he'd try anything solo.

I will venture a guess that Wally world has a policy that prohibits employees from carrying?
I would definitely keep an eye out for him.....he might get high and decide he is bullet proof.

They can't stop you from carrying if it's locked in your car tho. If I thought the guy was crazy enough, I'd carry something real small in my pocket, and pray I never had to use it. But if I did need it, job be damned!

Got any friends on the PD? Betting other rules mean nothing and a quick call to the local officer and him following him might produce a reason to pull him over after he leaves........and a vehicle search.
As long as the officer knows his limitations, pulling him over a few times after leaving will result in items without a receipt ......and who knows what else.
Just a thought.

The next time any of you accost him either take his picture and make sure all employees see it so that they can keep him out of the store, or make sure that he has plenty of "evidence" for a shoplifting charge on him when the cops show up.

No friends per se....but my thinking is like yours. I told management to call the cops the second they see him, because most of the time he is intoxicated on top of the stealing. It's a small town, so not much is usually happening at midnight. The police would likely get there quick and get him for DUI if nothing else. Who knows what else he has on him.

Sounds like you have the green light. You also have store cameras.
