Back from my MO hunt (went with my friend I hunt with in KY). He end up with (2) 2yr old birds and I took a real nice one. The weather was not pretty down there; plenty of rain and wind. We were in blinds and I had the right side windows closed as the rain was blowing in from that side. I saw a hen come in from the right (2nd one in about 15min) and I was kind of sidetracked by her and I didn't realize there was a jake and a tom behind her. By the time I saw the other 2 birds they were 45yds out and I decided to wait and see if we could get them in a little closer. They circled around the decoy and when they got directly in front of me I ranged them at 41.5yds and they separated enough to take a shot - the tom stuck his head up and I blasted him. It worked but I think that's about as far as I can take one. It was 24lb, 11.5" beard and 1-5/8" spurs - a very nice bird. He went to The Roost to be mounted. That place is incredible all they do is turkey's and they average 1500 mounts a year. They do all the birds for BassPro. It was a great trip even with the weather. (the second bird in the pic is one of the 2yr olds my partner took)
