Just me but I think we have to much technology in a sport that was much more fun when it was kept simple. I don't own a trail cam and don't intend to purchase one either. Good to see the animals win one. ! +2

As I was told the other day, even though it is law...you have to have someone willing to enforce it and someone willing to prosecute for violation of it.

I can remember when two way radios were illegal here. Actually I think that there was a time when any type of radio was illegal to use or carry when dear hunting. Which western state is it that does not allow scopes on muzzle loaders? Colorado Muzzle Loader Season In-Lines are legal Shotgun primers are legal No pelletized powder No scopes Sabots are prohibited Smokeless powder prohibited Straight out of the 2010 Colorado Big Game booklet

I bought my first camera last year and love it. I would not say it has helped my hunting much. I got 97% of my pictures at night time. It also helped me realize I took my vacation one week late and missed the peak of the rut. The most interesting thing about them is they will show you the big bucks you never knew existed on your property.

Might be the dumbest hunting law ever. I'm guessing the way the law is written that cameras are legal BEFORE hunting season starts. I love using cameras. I'd say it has to be in the running for it!

Maybe they are just trying to head off these cameras that take a picture and send it to your cell phone. www.activehunting.com/www.pixcontroller.com/Cellular-Scout/CellularEye-main.htmI can see a hunter sitting in one stand, his phone rings, the camera sends a picture of a big buck that is on the next ridge. The hunter gets down and goes to the next ridge to wait for the buck. The way I understand it one can use the camera pre and post season, just not during the seasons. thats what I had herd also Woody. Not your every day 35mm or digital cams but the ones that send the pics as soon as its taken.,

stupid law.
Ive yet to harvest a critter because I have cameras out. all they do is entertain me and let me know whats "available" Hardly any real advantage to having them. IMO

I think many here have no idea how different western hunting is from the hunting we do here . They are open ground or tree line/creek line spot and stalk hunting where a hunter slips up on animals they spot from sometimes way over a mile away .So the instant cams that send a pic is one advantage the hunters do need to enjoy out there .It is actually quite easy to slip around or up on an animal that you know is there in the terrain that they have out there.
I think that a hunter /outfitter could set out many cams like this and simply set back and wait till the right one shows up then its just a simple matter of heading him off and dropping him with the trusty .300 mag

We use them a bunch in Illinois. We put them on scrapes and licking branches. It sure makes it easier to pass a 120-130" buck when we have pics of 150"-180" ones. It also cool when you kill one that you have on cam. Everytime I pull a card it's like Christmas...I can't wait to get home and see what's on the card. Here's a pic of the buck I missed opening day and my buddy killed him later. We had a bunch of pics of him. it's just cool to be able to that.

part of the reason I quit using them is that the biggest bucks that I knew were there wouldn't get a pic taken, probably because of several factors including my placement, just got wary of all the intrusion after awhile
These cams that send via cel are crossing the line, imo good luck regulating that, though

Tenring- Thank You.
Personally I have no issue with this law. Is technology outstripping fair chase? I think that cameras that instantaneously sending pictures to cell phones is coming very close.
This one falls into the the high fence area of debate. Personal opinion.
