In over 30 years of hunting I finally had my first hunting mishap yesterday morning, the tip of my Woods Wisperer came off and went into my inner ear .After just an hour of hunting I had to stop and go to the Emergency Room to have it taken out. It's still a little sore today .

That sucks. But a pretty good track record if it took you 30 yrs to have something go wrong.
A couple years ago I was tracking a deer through some thickets and had a twig ram just right into my ear. I am sure it hit my ear drum as it nearly knocked me off of my feet. Took a few minutes to regain composure. About 2 or 3 days later I had to go to the doctor to check it out. I had blood coming out of my ear. Turned out it just scratched my ear channel and filled my ear up with blood. I was sure it was worse then that when I saw the blood all over my pillow.

I'd say you were lucky, that could have done some damage.I'm always worried about going through thickets because of things like that. There's been a few times when thorns were real close to getting me in the eyes, but luck was on my side.

I have had some near-misses the past 32 years chasing the wily whitetails, but nothing major & I hope to continue on this course.
