On several forums, that main topic of discussion is the price of health care, but for the life of me, no one, repeat, no one brings up the question of just who the hell is going to provide it. Reading all that I can of all the bills and especially the King Harry bill, does not address it, except that for four years, taxes will be collected to start the program. And just how will this program be started? By building health care clinics in test areas, then in numerous areas where this health care will be administered. And just who will staff all these clinics? No one right now because there doesn't seem to be any one to fill those positions, but wait a minute. In the bill there are provisions for grants to pay for the education of individuals to fill these positions. Priority will go to minorities, and to pay off these grants, loans, whatever, they will be required to work in under served areas. But these areas will be worked out later in the details [per King Harry]. Some of the details are that these clinics will be headed by a Nurse Practitioner, not a doctor [we are now 40,000 doctors short], so all of these people who voted for the Kenyan will eventually find out that down the road when they wait in long lines to see a doctor, in fact they won't. Congress can offer affordable health care to the American public, but have not addressed just who will provide it. Yes, it is a slow road to government take over of our health care. Does the system need a makeover? Certainly it does, but did King Harry ever bring up the fact that 40% of the cost of a doctors' visit fee goes to pay for malpractice insurance? Why so many lawsuits? Some are more than justified, but the majority is someone looking for a free ride of money. And the question of illegal aliens being covered is still on the table. Did the Kenyan lie when he said that they will not be covered? Not today, not tomorrow, but down the road, they will be! "The Devil Is In Details"!

Even my very non-political wife, who always goes back to whatever book she's reading or finds something else to do in another part of the house when a political show comes on, has picked up on the complete BS of the promises being made.
Caught her watching the last few times the healthcare bill was being discussed, and afterwards she said "How are they supposed to pay for all those increases in care and people covered without raising taxes raising the deficit?"
I told her, that the only answer to that question I had seen was that the government would increase efficiency and eliminate waste. The look on her face told me that she hadn't been totally ignoring politics these last few decades after all.
The thing that pushes many people towards grasping at the straw being offered, that the government will suddenly become more proficient than any governments in the past or in other parts of the world, and will actually REDUCE waste and inefficiency, instead of multiplying those traits as has ALWAYS happened before, is the rising cost of care.
That is a scary thing.
But the answer is not a 2000 page bill for the government to run the entire sector of our economy with their newfound ability to administer things efficiently and with minimal waste.
The answer is that the public needs to get a grip on the reality of the situation.
Our current medical system does have some flaws, but it has produced the best care in the world for those who can afford it, and has raised the level of care for those who cannot to a level that would be envied in most of the world.
One of the effects of this wonderful care is that we now have many, many more people surviving illnesses and accidents who would not have survived in the past. These survivors then go on to have additional illnesses and accidents, until they finally come up against the one they can't overcome. The end result is that we USE much more health care to keep us alive now than we ever have. And while we're doing that, we also use much more health care to keep us feeling well and more able to perform the tasks and enjoy the pleasures of life than we ever had available before.
The health care we used to be able to afford was a Model A pickup version, and the one we now are trying to find someone else to pay for is a Cadillac Escalade version.....and the one that we'll want if we can find some way to have someone else pay for it will be million-dollar armored Humvee-crossed-with-Escalade fantasy version.
We are asking for The Escalade and we are willing to pay for the Model A, and that is already a fantasy. And when we see that we can't really afford it we are asking for the government, which has never been a model of efficiency, no matter whose government or when, to trim away what it determines to be wasteful (something it has never been able to do before in all its history) to make the Escalade as affordable as the extremely simple Ford.
We have apparently all been watching way too much TV, mostly on Saturday mornings, and have lost any touch with reality.

Obama has stated that we need to be more like Europe. This Bill is nothing more that taking us down the path of Socialism. If it reaches final passage as it seems to be steam rolling, they will control every aspect of our lives. Rationing and waiting in line is going to be the norm. Older people are going to die sooner, because of this bill. This is sacrificing the old to provide for the young. It is also about spreading the wealth around to everyone here and to abroad. Illegals are going to get covered and Amnesty is coming. I am sure everyone has listened to Rev. Wrights ideologies on TV. This is the kind of stuff Obama was brainwashed with all of his life. The Dems have been working on it for years and the right person came along to ram it through with some of his tweaks. It fit right in with his socialistic views. There was a lot of Chicago Thug strongarming went on, along with the sweetheart deals. They will get the Illegal Immigrant vote out of this and Socialistic control. There will be a lot of winners. Pork was rampant. The Unions got stuff out of this too. They may have been the ones pushing it. The car companies and unions have been trying to figure a way to get the Healthcare off of their Legacy charges for a long time. Bones were given out to tons of Special interest groups in all of this. A lot of people who worked for their hard earned money, is now going to be robbed in taxes and increases in prices. Spread the Wealth around and build a Monument for Obama!
