I strongly suggest you invest in a very large piece of cable and a good lock because someone will steal your stand. 90% of the hunters on this property think they own it and get very upset when someone new comes around. I hunted there 2 years in a row and it was miserable. People will put treestands right next to yours, or they will put up multiple stands to surround an area. And dont even bother saying anything to DNR because they could care less Most of them are friends with these hunters anyway.

I will admit there are a lot of deer in the slough and they do kill some nice ones out of there its just that the majority of the hunters dont have any respect for other hunters. The first year I hunted there me and my hunting partner waited a few days after Sept 1st to put up our stands so that all the regulars would have theirs done and they did.We scouted real good and made sure there was nobody around the area we chose. The second week of season we came back from breakfast and there was a treestand set up 25 yards away from mine and mine was on the edge of the field. The bad part of it is you cant say anything because he has just as much right as I do to be there.
