This year I finally made a complete switch from the original Pyrodex to the 777 pellets. In the process of cleaning and preparing my equipment today for this muzzy season, I noticed I was seating the sabot a lot lower than my original ramrod mark (from original Pyrodex pellets). I never thought to compare the pellets until today. I just assumed (I know - never assume - but I did) that both 50 grain pellets were similar if not the same. I measured them and found the 777 to be 19/32" compared to the original Pyrodex at 23/32". At 1/8" difference per pellet, my ramrod mark sank 1/4" lower since I use 2 pellets for 100 grains per load. As I looked at the respective boxes, I also see the 777 box is 1/4" or so shorter. I should have notice this earlier but guess I was not too attentive to the difference. Maybe this can help someone else.
