I just got in from guiding a pheasant hunt near Martinsville. We started getting things in order a little before sunrise and out from behind one of the hog barns busted a group of 5 big ole fat does. Mid morning - during the hunt - we watched a bruiser of a buck doggin' a nice doe in the next field. Another party busted more deer out of some beds than they could count - more than a dozen. We saw at least a half dozen good/fresh scrapes and rubs. Its been a long time since I've seen so much action in December. Kinda makes it hard to guide a bird hunt. Stoked for muzzy season!
