Population hasn't changed that much - just not seeing them during gun season as much this year. The deer were still moving, likely just more at night and the crops being in late didn't help either.

In the area that I hunt in Parke Co. I believe the liberal doe permits this year and for the past few seasons have reduced the deer herd. The farmer who allows me to hunt told me that this year was the first year that he actually saw a reduction of crop damage in some of his fields.

I am covered up with deer...dense cover holds them and they will get up and browse many times during the day. Clear shots are tough to get.

Lower. We have taken quite a few does the past 3 years & blue tongue hit our area hard last year.

In my area, the Deer were all deep in the woods & brush. They ventured out, in the fields at night. Also the weather was too warm. Lack of acorns & mast + this past winter's ice storm played a major role.

Magnum & I fought that on my place during gun season - we always seemed to be just a few trees off where we needed to be to get a good look.

Much lower in my area. EHD and over harvesting.

Over all we have a growing herd. I'm sure that EHD took down the herd somewhat in certain areas.
Standing corn allowed deer to disappear during the seasons.

.....and warmer temps made most of the action happen at night.
