Drs. I don't mean to through stones but at what age do ya start to teach a child how to hunt. I myself have taken my son to the deer woods when he was 4 years old. First off a four or even a ten year old is NOT mature enough to handle or understand a firearm. A child's first gun should be a BB gun with STRICT adult supervision. The child can then learn basic safety skills before proceeding to a real firearm, at age 12 to 15 years old, with adult supervision. IMHO. Stereotyping all based on your knowledge of a few.....some grow up outdoors and are mature enough.

My son has been hunting with me at the age of 4 he is now 8. He does NOT handle a firearm it is all a learning process, I take him where there will be a good chance to see game so its interesting and I try to show him gun control and patients. I do this at a young age so it is instilled in his mind (second nature). This is the way I was raised and I will raise my boys the same. PS.have you ever done something and after the fact thought that was stupid I could have got hurt? If you answer NO. YOU LIE accidents happen to even the safest people. Thoughts and prayers to the boy and family
