I went to the archery pro shop yesterday and shot a few arrows and shot the bull with the guys. Now I am completely fired up for indoor league. I will be practicing every single day to get my strength and form back to where it should be. I LOVE SPOT SHOOTING! In march I will focus on Steelhead fishing the ST JOE River with my flyrod and then will go to turkey in April. If all goes well as far as time, I will shoot 3D this year. I didn't shoot at all last year. BUMMER! What do you do?

i plan on doing some coyote hunting with my new .243 whenever it gets here, some late squirrel hunting, maybe some rabbits, and a waterfowl hunt or two. would really lake to take advantage of this new feb. goose season. need to borrow some waders and dekes from my buddy though cuz i havn't been able to afford to buy any yet. anyway, i'm excited to chase some different critters now that deer season is pretty much over. i might get out with the reflex bow one more time, but i've gotton pretty burnt out sitting in a treestand and not seeing anything the last 4-5 times out. i havn't seen many deer this year period.

I didn't know there was such a thing as "time after deer season..." HA HA...
I usually start going through my hunting journal and reviewing the situations of the past deer season. I record EVERYTHING in detail about the hunts. I keep track of dates, air temperature, wind conditions, deer activity with times seen, direction of travel, etc.because after the season ends is the BEST time to start planning for next season.
I also start scheduling my speaking engagements and seminars for the next year as well as concentrating on the boat shows I will be working. I anticipate seeing the MANY friends I have made throughout the years working these shows.
All these events will help me occupy my time until it is open water fishing time and then I start a 80-90 bass tournament schedule and that will take me right up to deer season again... WHAT A LIFE!!!!

Deer season never really ends, I will begin scouting for next year, placing trail cams, and shed antler hunting later on. I will also be doing more rabbit and waterfowl hunting.

I'm going to work on those squirrels that ate the foam off of my tree stand seats , coyote hunt, and get my boat and gear ready for early spring striper fishing. Mount a few deer for customers, take care of the calves that should be popping out in another week, and build a couple dozen arrows. Fill out Wyoming deer applications for my son and myself for next year..........I think I can keep busy!! ;D Yaz

Hi Hoosier Hunter..
Last fishing season, I had tournaments every Monday morning, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. I have "back up batteries" on the charger while I am fishing a tournament.
I lose ALOT of sleep sometimes but I wouldn't have it any other way. I waited MANY years to get to this place in my life where I could fish and hunt FULL TIME.. and actually earn a living doing it..

Maybe a little bit more rabbit and squirrel hunting then just preparing for our 2nd child that is going to be born in June. Won't have much time to do anything else once June gets here. But I would not have it any other way. We'll have a 2 year old and a newborn. Things will be interesting around our house.

It's about time to start molding, powder paint and tie some bluegill and crappie jigs. If it hadn't been raining all day I would have been looking for crappies or sitting in my tree stand.

Gotta catch up on firewood!! I've got enough split and on the porch to get through the end of the month, and more to split in the barn. Though that won't be enough to get through January. I'm hoping it freezes soon (and stays that way for a while) so I can get wood cut in my woods. Other than that I'll probably shoot a couple of rabbits and make some turkey calls. I was working on that a little today. Winter archery league starts in a couple of weeks, so that will occupy 1 night a week. Haven't talked to Dad about hog hunting again this winter...

Work on getting healthy again! Progress has been great on my back so far, but I have a ways to go. I will likely do a little squirrel, goose, and varmint hunting if I can. I have got a lot of reloading to do and some scouting for next year as well. If it ever gets cold enough I may do some ice fishing as well. Turkey season is around the corner, so it won't be too long until that enters my mind.
