Least number of deer I've ever seen on that place this trip. Picked up a 2.5yr old 8pt Sat. morning. Heard a racket in the woods to my right - figured I had a pair chasing and sure enough a few minutes later here comes a doe high tailing it over the rise. I got ready for the buck and sure enough I see antlers and ears and he stops, and that all I see - after what seemed like hours he finally came up on the rise and that was that. I used that 270WSM I bought at the Youth Hunt. That rifle really shoots up nicely and that buck dropped like he had been hit with the Hammer of Thor. I'm very pleased with it. he whole rest of the time I saw one doe at 350yds+ and a young buck Monday morning. I may have to do a first and take the muzzleloader back down in December if I can't pick something up on my place. The other property I've hunted in Brown Co. has been empty this year. Have to agree with those who are saying it's been a fairly slow gun season.

Tough Deer Hunting Season in Ky this year. The Deer seem to all be in the woods in brushy areas, only comming out in the open at night. Got my 10-pointer in heavy brush as well, with my .308, one shot and down he fell. Saw four other Deer that morning two Doe & a couple of younger Bucks. <REALLY TOUGH HUNTING THIS SEASON!>

I've been wondering if you've used that gun yet or not. I'm happy that you enjoy it and was able to take a deer with it! That round is devastating to a deer, all 5 that i shot with it dropped like a sack of taters.
Congratulations on the kill!

Something a little different - never had even shot a Short Mag and the 270 makes the most sense of all of them. If you told me we were going deer hunting and the shooting senario could be anything I wouldn't have to think twice about which of my rifles I grab. I has impressed me that much - TNX for the sale!
