I've got to give a shout out to the folks at Prophetstown State Park for the hunt that they put on.This is their first hunt and they did a banner job. Check in and out was a breeze. It was well organized and run. The COs were very helpful. They did ticket a couple people for orange violations. Woodmaster hunted in one of those places where we knew if he bagged a deer it would be a 3/4 mile drag - uphill. The folks at Prophetstown drove a "Gator" down to with 75 yards of the deer and hauled it to the check in station for us. Great!I'd like to go back every year.

I am in total agreement with Woody on the hunt in prophetstown. Well run and I did not have hunters on top of me, even though Woody did not such luck. CO's were helpful and a pleasure to talk to and hear what was going on throughout the park. Would do this hunt again.
Weather was terrible, but was able to bag an descent 8 and saw 10 does and 1 small 6 for half a day sit. not bad. Pleasure meeting and talking to you and your son Woody.
There was a 23pt shot, so if anyone has pictures i would like to see.

That group was staying at the Econo Lodge where we were at. They locked that buck up in the DNR barn on the park. He would take no chance of anyone stealing it out of the back of his truck over night.

Guess I was a little off on the score of my buddies big deer. I was getting second hand the Gross TYPICAL score. He is not an official scorer but is usually real close. He said that his buck has 237" of antler. What do you think Woody? I am going to score it soon. We'll see?

That was not "Big Red" the local legend. ;D
