Brother and i are gettin ready to head out and give it a whirl. I will probably actually post him in a rivine at the other end of our swamp/thicket/pond/hill/partige in a pear tree... woods Its a nasty area but holds quite few deer. I've done this a few times and if we werent tryin to be selective i dont think shooting " A deer" would be difficult. I would like to take a decent doe and he says he aint shootin unless hes s good one. BUT!.... i think it could get interesting never know. You guys ever do this?? Mind you we got bout 12" snow and 20mph winds right now

.......WOW!!!........ holy cow did that suuuuuck! 12" of snow + 20mph wind = HUGE snow drifts!! evidently i overlooked the likelihook of snowdrifts. Deer had no idea we were in there though.. coulda shot 9 antlerless of mixed sizes... but there was no way i was draggin anything out of there unless brother shot a pig. We did see one good buck however .... stopped at about 75 yards but he was facing away the whole time... so bro had to pass. Was definaltey some good bonding time but holy cow am i whooped pup.

I tried that today also. When I was loading the gun I realized I had forgot to put the breech plug back in after cleaning last night. I went ahead and just walked in the woods anyways and of course I saw a deer without my gun. I can't decide whether I need another deer or not so no big deal. Just like being out in the woods.

Walking on snow always reminded me of squeezing a box of cornstarch, there just ain't no quiet way to do it.

My Dad called me the other night and said he missed a doe and after he shot it ran and stood for 5 minutes about 40 yards from him and he had left his reloads in the truck.
