Please get permission to track on your neighbors property. I have a long drive to get to my woods and we had our hunt ruined today. We had two yahoos walking all over our woods today at 8:30 am. I approached them and asked if they had permission to be in our woods. They said they had the legal right to track a deer. I gave them an education on the matter.
We have had our no trespassing signs ripped out of the ground. We had a 4 wheeler drive all over our field which is planted with 1ft pine trees and our neighbors have two tree stands placed inches away from the property line. Please show respect for your neighbors!

We have a ladder stand that is probably our most productive stand on a fence row. It has been in place for over 5 years now and our neighbors not only put a stand up on the other side of the same fence they cut a hole and bush hogged the gap in the old fence because it is closer to be dropped off and walk from ourside of the woods than theirs. These two stands are now all of 10 feet apart. All without asking.

Legal right to track? These guys gives all real hunters a bad name. I would have called the Police and had trespassing charges filed.

You don't need to call the police.....just go to the prosecutors office on Monday and tell them you want to file charges.....if you have a case, they will file charges. The same thing happened to me a few years back during gun season with the folks who own ground next to ours. I came down out of my stand and assisted in the search....it was actually an afternoon hunt and when it started getting dark I returned to my truck and got my big lights out for them to use. They finally found the deer and was very appreciated that I helped them. I can now hunt on their land anytime during archery and ML season...when they are not hunting.

It does get a little upsetting when you have people hunting right next to your property line. I have a piece of property (all woods) and on t he west side me and the ajoining farmer talked and there is no problem if one of us has to track a deer on each others property. On the east side I have some guy who sits just on the other side of the property line. I have never met the person and don't know where he comes from but he has been there during gun season the last ten years. I always see him walking up and down the wood line and I'm always up a tree back in the woods some. I haven't caught him on my property yet, but the person to me is just sneaky and he has gotten deer before and drug them out right next to my property. Like I said its a little annoying but I live with it....

I can see where it would be annoying to have someone put a stand next to your stand, but if a fencerow is common to two properties I guess it can be hunted by both "neighbors". Trespassing to track is another matter. I'd wait until around noon if possible to avoid meesing up someone's hunt, and then try to gain permission. I generally try to talk to neighbors ahead of time.
