;D Hey guys, if you still have tags to fill tonight was the night. I got out late this evening and immediately had a group of nine does' under me. All of them were within 60 yards but I was having too much fun taking pictures of them. Plus I wanted to see how many would come out. Tomrrow morning should be a good one! They are grouping back up! Had another big doe in a cut corn field 50 yards on my way out. Sorry for the poor quality, taken on my cell phone!

I had them moving everywhere this morning for me as well. I snuck up on a bedded doe but passed the shot because I wasn't 100% confident in the shot. Weather permitting, I will give it another try tomorrow.

I was out the door and halfway to the truck late this afternoon and thought better of it and turned around and stayed home. The freezing rain and ice all over my truck had me a bit concerned, plus i was already much later then i would have liked. Im not sure i will be able to make it out of my drive tomorrow so deer hunting will be a no go. Im off work from Thursday through Christmas so plenty of time left for me to fill my doe tag.

freezing rain started yesterday and finally turned to snow about 2 am, If your deer hunting in this stuff today, You are a MAN, We have about 7" of snow now and the wind is blowing hard 25/30mph and gust around 45mph. I"ll be back at it tommorrow evening should be a great hunt. 933 nice pic, little out of focus? Was it ice on the lens? I think sometimes shooting them with film is as much fun with a weapon? You can get some great shots for your albums and stuff. I just got a used digital camera for stuff like that, the wife has two digital, and some real nice lens, but if i was to take one of her cameras to the feild, I would be the one getting shot.

If I had some woods that I could still-hunt in, you could not keep me out of the woods in this weather. If you know where they bed it doesn't get any better. Wind and blowing snow makes it pretty easy to slip up on them. I can understand not sitting stands, but there's more than one way to shoot deer.
I shot my last one yesterday, still-hunting. Spotted the deer bedded in a spot where they like to lay. Shot it in the neck from 50 yds, before it could figure out what I was. Two others were with it that I did not see until after the shot. When the smoke had cleared I saw two flags bouncing off, thought I might have missed. Upon inspection though, I found the doe laying right where I shot her.
Any day you can hunt is a good day to, so just adapt your methods to the weather and go.

Hey daworz, unfortunately all I had was my cell phone. I went out yesterday and saw 8 does' and a small buck. Jumped all of them up, they were bedded down tigter than ticks till late afternoon.

My hunting buddy called at 5:30 A.M. yesterday and said he was not going. Snowing to hard and wind blowing hard. Checked my flag to see if I wanted to go to public. Private land is his so no go there. Flag (large) was standing straight out. Turned out lights, went back to bed. Wind chill down is single digits. Not for me, if I had one of those enclosed blinds that you could put one of those duck blind heaters in okay. Lone Wolf on the side of a tree, no thanks getting to old for that one anymore. Got a few days left if it warms up some maybe then if not well it'll be time to wash it up, fold it up and pack it up until next year. Lord willing. Although I have seen less than usual, kind of reminds me of the 70's, I still had a good time watching all the other little critters.

Used to love to stand hunting the cold snowy weather, but my heart med's can only tolerate so much when the temp heads down toward the teens. Sure do miss it!
