Done that with coyotes before..almost tried it with my deer this year but didn't...we use an electric chain hoist before too instead of an ATV..works good.

We used this method on my back last year, but we used a tractor w/ a bucket to hold the deer up, and hooked a truck to the deer to pull the skin off.
WORD OF WARNING: make sure you have the skin cut good around the back legs up to the field dressing cut - otherwise you'll break the spine and pull the deer in half!

I did that about 10 years ago but I used a lawn mower. My wife laughed until see saw how easy the hide come off. I hung the deer overnight and it was december so it was cold.
