today had a event that was both a dream come true and a nightmare.it starts with me not receiving a handicap license for my shoulder surgery i just had .well i have a nice ground blind made of firewood stacked between 4 close trees with pine branch overhang.about 20 yards from it is a large scrape and rub that wasnt there when i put it up.well i went ahead got my bow license and after alot of practice yesterday felt my shoulder would hold for a hunt.in my blind by 5.30 ish today.around 7.00am i was surrounded by 7 deer all within 20 to 30 yards.2 were nice 10 pointers looked like twins couldnt tell em apart.one came broadside and guess what i couldnt draw my bow for the world.no strenght at all.all i could do was sit there and wait for them to leave .surprised they stayed as long as they did with all the sobbing i was doing.just kidding about the sobbing. maybe

I know how you feel. I am also in the same situation. I had rotator cuff surgery in May and I also have problems with my other shoulder that the doctor wants to surgically correct. The problem is that I am not recovering like I should from the surgery in May and my physical therapist is not sure that I will. It has been 5 months and I am in more pain now than before the surgery. I have lost at least 50% of strength in that arm also. With that being said, trying to draw a bow is an absolute struggle for me. I did apply for and was fortunate to receive a crossbow permit but due to being laid off of work, I cannot afford to purchase one this year. I have been trying to build up strength in my shoulder and arm to allow me to use my compound bow but unfortunately it is not looking very promising. One day I can pull it back a half dozen times and the next day I cannot get it drawn even one time. The more I work it the more it hurts. I went hunting a few days ago and I also had several bucks within 15 yards of my stand one was a 160 inch ten point that I would have gladly harvested if I would have been able to get the bow drawn. I made three attempts to draw the bow but I just couldn't get it done. So I watched the bucks nibble on clover and spar from time to time before they finally walked out of sight. Talk about being frustrated! I am going to keep trying to strengthen my shoulder and see what happens. Good luck, I wish you a speedy recovery!

That definitely stinks. You should at least take a video camera with you next time. Bring the bow too. Maybe it will go back for you. If not, at least you have the video
