What do you guys recommend for a good knife sharpener? I can get a decent edge with the ceramic sticks I have, but i'd like to be able to put a really good edge on my field knife without spending hours working the blade after every deer killed. Any advice appreciated.

Lanskey for sure. Makes short work of knives plus 2 blade and replaceable broadheads.

I like a diamond stone, then keep them tuned up with a butchers steel.

The little gizmo that HuntMeister pointed out is perfect to take in the field and keep a blade sharp and they work great in the home as well to keep all of your knives sharp.

I've got the same one that Huntmeister has and I love it. It slips right in your pocket or pack and goes to the woods with you.

I like a diamond stone, then keep them tuned up with a butchers steel. Same here. Also like a fine India stone if I need a little more bite.

Lansky or Smiths diamond stick in course/fine for at home. One similar to Huntmiesters for in the field touch up. don't really care for a sharpener that peels steel from blade. Too easy to burn blade with electrics. JMO though.
