Not sure on specifics, but they had agreed to terms with the state that would allow them another 12 years of operation to "re-coup" their investment. This was last year. However, nothing was ever signed by both party's and the state has (the last I knew) decided to try to shut them down sooner. Of course, the play-pen operators are fighting it.
Someone else may know more details than this, but I think it's where the situation is at right now.

The last I heard the IDNR said," Mr and Mrs Deer Farmers - See you in court".

RiverJim - the only case in court was Rodney Bruce's, and last year, then-director Hupfer was supposedly working on a settlement, but the deal was never finished, and new Director Carter decided to proceed with court action rather than continuing to pursue the settlement option... At this point, I'm assuming the two sides are going through some sort of discovery or pre-trial process, but haven't heard any details as to trial dates being set or that sort of thing...
I would doubt they would try anything again in the legislature this session since things finally got into court, but you never know....
