If all boneless probably around 40 - 45%. On your deer somewhere around 50 pounds.

Here is an example of the formula: 100 Lbs. Live Weight X 78% = 78 Lbs. Field Dressed Weight X 75% = 58 Lbs. Hanging Weight X 75% = 43 Lbs. Edible Meat

I always "guesstimate" 50% of live weight. Comes out pretty close. parson

We took this deer to little buck processing in Mooresville, when we picked it up last night I thought "wow, thats not much meat".....when we got home we weighed it all out on my wifes postal scale.....29.8 pounds! TOTAL!
I think we got bent over.....the total cost was $156.41
Last time we will ever do business there!

I am telling you guys, get a video, buy a book or have someone show you how to process your own. You will save tons of money and you will know that it is YOUR deer.

Camby you got cheated. Do not know what you had done with that little deer but out of my 109 field dressed doe I got about 28 2 pound packages of hamburger and the loin and back strap steaks. You should have gotten closer to 60 pounds. And it cost me less that $70.00.

Ribeye steaks are on sale here for $5 a pound.

Camby - sounds almost like they just processed the quarters and didn't even get you any of the rib or neck meat...
I've not taken in any in there this year yet, but Archer's in Fishers was charging a flat rate of like $85 last year regardless of the size of the deer... $150+ is pretty steep IMO...

We have processed two deer on our own this year, we took this doe in to get some summer sausage and snack sticks made. We got: 9lbs of summer sausage that actually weighed 6.5lbs 6lbs of snack sticks that actually weighed almost 5lbs 5lbs of mini summer sausage sticks that weighed 4 lbs 5lbs of deer bratwurst that weighed 4lbs the rest was two packages of steaks and several packages of loins we asked for hamburger, but didn't get any, they said there wasn't enough deer but they did charge us the extra 2.00 for adding fat to the hamburger we didn't get! This was a full grown doe deer, 2.5 year old, should have went around 90-100 pounds after skinned............ Also Little Buck Processing is a "cash only" business, no cards or checks accepted! You think they are reporting all or any of their revenue to the taxing authorities?..... ??

I'd have to agree you got "bent" over....
I wieghed my 8 point I took on November 8, close to 135 pounds. From that, I got 27 pounds of burger, and only added ~2-3 pounds of beef suet to the burger while grinding. Also packaged up 4 roasts (two from each back quarter), the inner loins, the backstraps, and made ~2-3 pounds (finished) of jerky. Just guessing here, but totaled up I probably had over 60 pounds of meat that I cut off of the buck, maybe closer to 70.
Heck, I probably had close to 25-30 pounds of meat from my little button buck I shot the day after Thanksgiving...
Wasn't enough for hamburger? That's BS, plain and simple. If it wasn't turned into hamburger it should have been stew meat. Sounds like you may not have been the first one to complain about lack of meat and they gave some of yours to someone else....

Most button bucks and yearling does will yield about 30 lbs of hamburger plus backstraps. Maybe this guy had a two pile system, one for you and one for me. lol h.h.
