anyone know why they have the week between the seasons?? To keep the Indiana divorce rate down? I really don't know.. There used to be a week between bow and gun..

It's not really a week, it's just 5 days. Maybe so the rest of the doe can get bred in peace??? Who knows....maybe so the conservation officers can get some rest?

Isn't this a yearly discussion? ;D
I don't know why the 5 days off, but I kinda like it- it gives me a chance to get something done around the house without feeling like I could be hunting.
Of course, throw in a fresh snow like today and I wish I could be out there!

To give me & the deer a breather. A little over 3 mos. of hunting those rascals wears this old coot down.

I think you might be on to something there Woody...... I know my wife is glad for the short break in between because it gives me a chance to get some things done around the house and see the kids..... before I am back at again hard core.

Georgia does a break also but only on Public ground..., I was told by a CO that the rule was an old rule made for people who went into the woods to cut a Christmas tree so they would not fear being mistaken for a deer. I do not know how true this is but it sounds somewhat beleivable! BTW, my wife is thinking I sure am enjoying alot of extra time with her during 'Prime' hunting time... Y'all better not tell her about the break!

Its alright with me....i'm not able to hunt during the week anyways so that just keeps all of the other hunters out of the woods so it can take a rest and maybe give the deer a chance to stay in the area! lol.
