While hunting the other night, I was packing up and getting ready to climb out of the tree, when something climbed up the tree next to me. It was about the size of a chipmunk. I thought it was odd because I have never seen a chipmunk that high in a tree before. All of a sudden, it jumped, flattened out, and just sailed out of site down the hill. It wasn't a bird because it wasn't flapping any wings. It was almost dark, so I didn't get a good look at it, but it was pretty cool. I didn't know we had them around here. Has anyone else seen them?

I have seen them a few times. They are fun to watch as they sail to the ground.

Numerous times I've seen them but right at dusk. They're nocturnal critters.

When I was a kid squirrel hunting at my great grandparents cabin in the Missouri Ozarks, I was sitting a gainst a tree cat napping and waiting for it to get light (granpa liked to go EARLY!), when a flying squirrel glided in and landed about a foot above my head. This 12 year old boy about needed to change his underoos! It took me a little while to figure out what it was. One of our cats brought one up to the house when I was in high school. Dad called the DNR and a CO stopped by and picked it up. They are small!
