Got home today about 4PM, ate and took care of a few chores and was ready to head to the woods. When my 3 year old boy said, "Daddy, I never been hunting yet. Can I go?" Figured the nice weather would be good to take advantage of and I haven't had a chance to use a ground blind I picked up last year so we set off for the woods. He tumbled a few time on the way out popping up saying "I am OK". I set up the blind and he was impressed with the tent. Once set up he did OK for about 15 min. but got to looking at everything yelling about hearing a deer and looking for squirrels.
About that time I see a doe about 20 yrds away and show it to him about the same time it saw us and bounded away. I figured that was about as good as it was going to get asked him if he was ready to go home. He asked to stay cause the deer are just around the corner. We stuck it out about 20 more minutes then we packe up.
Best hunt I've been on in a while. I have the does number for this weekend!
Man I need to get a Double Bull Blind this cheap thing didn't have any room. I guess it will be OK for gun hunting in the rain but thats about it.

Sounds like a GREAT hunt.....any time in the woods with your kids is special. I cherish every moment that I get to hunt with mine.

I miss those days...they grow up fast enjoy every minute...My kids are grown up and could care less about hunting with Dad now. I do most of my hunting these days by myself..I find myself recalling those days of past while sitting in a tree...time flys..

You can loose your patience pretty quick when hunting with a kid that young. Video games seem to help.

I wasn't really expecting anything but a good time. Mission accomplished.
