I know this is posted often, but I don't think it can ever be posted enough. Just a reminder to wear your safety harnesses the moment you leave the ground. A hunter fell right up the road from me on Sunday. He fell between 30 and 35 feet. I don't know all the details, but last I heard was he was unresponsive and had internal bleeding. I could hear lifeline landing at the scene to take him away. Hopefully he made it, but it didn't sound very good. Your friends and family deserve you home after every hunt. Be safe out there.

. My buddy and I both wear HSS vests and have their Liefline Rope on all of our stands. We're connected from the bottom to top. Take the time and tie off fellas. It's not worth the risk.

. Like wiley...we use the HSS on our property and they are so easy to gear up compared to older style harnesses.

I went around and rigged up lifeline/prusik systems on all my stands this year.
My wifes uncle ..... he was doing the same thing and fell while doing it. Broke one foot and the ankle on the opposite leg.

I have lifelines on all my stands except two.
On those I do have the tie offs.
I need to order a couple more lifelines..

Hope he pulls through. I bought a HSS vest a few years ago and it is easily worth every penny. Like some of the others said 35'....good God!

Broke one foot and the ankle on the opposite leg. I use my climber to put the rope up first, then the stix and hang-on stand, that way I am attached with my harness at all times. If the tree won't allow it (limbs), then I pick another tree that will.

I received a 911 call saturday night. A guy fell from his tree stand out in the middle of no where. He had to be lifelined to Indy and had some very severe injuries.

Can never be reminded of safety too much.
Has anyone ever made their own lifeline systems?

I have the first line of the hss made and wear it on most all my hunts. On 9-27 I climbed into a new set I had hung back in July. It was a morning hunt, I climbed in at dark hooked up my vest, pulled up my bow and sat down. I had been sitting maybe 5 seconds and bam, seat break loose and I go shooting to the front of the platform. The stand at one time had nylon straps with a pad attached with the folding bar that goes up and down. The straps had started to squeak over time so I cut them off, drilled holes and attached a piece of plywood. The plywood had rotted somewhat, the bolts pulled thru through the wood and off I went....almost. The HSS grabbed me enough to slow my movement and allowed me to stay on the platform. How much are the safety lines? I made one recently for my son and want to compare.
