We have deer hunted every weekend (and then some) since the youth weekend at the end of September, we aint hunting this weekend!
My son has been sick as a dog all week with a serious sinus infection, he aint been to school since last Wednesday, my wife is blaming the deer hunting and camping for my son's illness.
So I think we will just hang out at home this weekend, get the muzzleloaders ready for next weekend, but I think I'm gonna drive back and forth next weekend, it's just too cold to camp!
This will give my son a chance to get better and make the wife happy nand give me a little rest. Hate missing the last weekend of gun season but there will be plenty of deer left for the next three weeks!

I hunted at Atterbury Friday and Saturday, when I got home Saturday evening I found out my mother went into the hospital on Saturday afternoon so thats taken up my deer hunting time until today. She got out this evening and I took her home so I'm going hunting in the morning. h.h.

Camby - hope your son gets to feeling better soon! Sounds like you made a wise choice, and hey, Sunday is going to be the pits weatherwise anyway...
H.H. - Glad to hear your mother's out of the hospital - hope it's nothing serious...

Camby - get that boy healthy! That stinks but you men have been hard at it for sure! Taking one weekend off isn't going to hurt you.

JKD,
It was nothing serious and shes alright now. I didn't hunt this AM because of the wind. It was blowing over 20 MPH when I got up so no go for me. I hate hunting in high wind and wont go if its over 20 MPH because I rarely see deer but I am planning on hunting this evening. h.h.

H.H. - glad to hear that she's ok!
I hear you on this wind... I went out for a bit last evening even though it was blowing and thought I might sneak up on something... I was hunting a thicket in one of our woods and didn't see anything, but the wind was roaring through the treetops like a freight train at one point, so deer could have been 20 yards away and I'd never have heard them...
Tomorrow or Saturday, I'm going to move a blind and possibly a tree stand into different positions... sounds like the blind will be the way to go Sunday if this rain they're talking about stays around... I keep wishing it would get a good tracking snow on and get the deer moving during the day...
Good luck to you!
