Indiana Youth Deer Season Rules
Youth deer hunting season is Sept. 26 and 27. Youth age 17 or younger on the date of the hunt, and accompanied by an adult of at least 18 years of age, can take one antlerless deer during this special youth deer season.
This deer is in addition to any deer taken during any other season.
The youth hunter must possess a valid hunting license (youth or deer), but the accompanying adult does not need to possess a hunting license while in the field with the youth hunter.
The youth hunter must comply with all deer hunting regulations, including tagging the deer and checking it in to a deer check station within 48 hours of the take.
The youth hunter and accompanying adult must wear hunter orange.
The youth hunter may use a legal firearm, bow and arrow, or crossbow, to take the deer, but may possess only one type of equipment to take a deer while in the field.
The accompanying adult cannot take a deer and may not possess a firearm, muzzleloader, bow and arrow or crossbow while in the field with the youth hunter.

I was hoping they would let youth take a buck. Good luck this deer season and be safe!

I was hoping they would let youth take a buck. Good luck this deer season and be safe! We were hoping so too, but didn't quite get it done for this year. Next year they will be able to take either sex. Timex wont restrict the youth hunters to antlerless only during next year's youth hunt. But, I'm guessing that most youth will still take the first deer that they see... Safety will be our main concern... Thanks,
