I think I've got a hornets nest somewhere around my house too- I killed one today that was chewing on some siding. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) A couple of years ago, my neighbor had a hornets nest on the bottom of the pole-mounted power transformer. If those start attacking you, I'd suggest a nighttime liquid Sevin application, completely soak the nest. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Yea keep your distance. I have one about 10-12 feet high on an old barn. I was walking around showing the place to my brother in law and while we were looking at the old barn (old oak boards) we got chased out of there. I got 3 stings and he got 1. Based on the ease of getting to it and the fact that we don't really go over there much except to mow I decided to do the same and just stop mowing right next to it and wait until this fall/winter to take the nest down.
Just make sure your kids don't mess with them! They are MEAN!!!!!

just wait till after dark and saturate the nest with a can of wasp/hornet killer. No biggie really. Done a few of em in my wildlife control work. Side note.... people will pay good money for the nests if you can remove them without destroying.

Yep did that myself. I had an upstairs window I could hit it from though - yours looks like it could be hard to reach.

It was at least that to this one, the backside of my house is a long ways up there due to terrain. I felt better getting closer and really pouring it on! ;D

It must be something to do with the gray siding and white trim. Maybe you can try the wasp/hornet spray and let me know how it works!
