Planning on going out again on Friday after Thanksgiving (first time). I assume most people are off from work, so wondering if it is a pretty busy time in the woods?

I mean the cost of the lease, licenses, travel ... everything? I have thought about biting the bullet and going that route but holding a lifetime license for indiana and having access to some pretty decent ground have kept me from it.

We will be at it again this weekend. We are leaving for the club Wednesday when my son gets home from school, we will be hunting Thursday morning, then going to my sister in laws for dinner then back down to the club for the rest of the weekend.
I am pretty sure we are going to pass on Atterbury on Saturday, it really just sounds like a rodeo and we are seeing plenty of deer on our ground.
My son also wishes to pass on the youth pheasant hunt he was drawn for on Friday.....he wants to DEER HUNT!

Was Illinois worth it? I mean the cost of the lease, licenses, travel ... everything? It was worth it (just) for me to go to Minnesota this year... even with OOS tags at $141. (The whole trip+tags cost under $300) #1 - Got to spend time with my Father in Law, who's a good Joe (and didn't have to pay Room & board for a week). #2 - Got a deer with my .357 #3 - Reaquainted myself with "Trigger to Freezer" processing - somthing I haven't done in a while. #4 - I know I can go back to the same spot. I would rather hunt Indiana, but being up near the Lake where I am, and knowing no landowners or having $$$ to lease , my options are limited. I do hope I can get somthing on Dunes State Park, and that they keep offering/I keep drawing it regularly...

Last year it was the 3rd biggest day harvest-wise and the day I killed my buck; only opening weekend beat it out.

Taking a guy (been shooting with him several times and he was my boss before he retired) out on Fri who's never killed one, wants to try it out. Putting him in the spot with the most activity in the last few weeks; and he said he'd let me have most of the meat from anything he gets!

I will be out on Friday. I have only got to hunt for 3 hours so far in gun season. I am going to take my 8 year old son out with me. I would love to get a doe with him.

You mean you guys would rather hunt than stand in that 400 foot line waiting for the doors to open at Best Buy so you can pick up that 65" HD TV for like 50 bucks? You know the one they have like 3 of, so you have to camp out starting today for it.

You know the one they have like 3 of, so you have to camp out starting today for it. I will be watching the kids in the morning so my wife can do her annual shopping trip. It's like the first day of hunting season for her. In the afternoon I will be out trying to get my 8 year old Son a shot at a deer.
