This past weekend, a friend brought out a Winchester 94 in .44 magnum he had borrowed to try out for possible used gun buy... he wanted to do some test shots, and on about the 3rd round, he went to place the gun at half-**** and his thumb slipped off the hammer and KABOOM!!!
Luckily, he had the gun pointed downrange and we were standing well behind him, so no one was hurt...
My Marlin 1894 has a hammer safety bar on it to prevent this sort of thing, but other make/models often do not...
When going to half-****, ALWAYS POINT THE GUN DOWNRANGE AND AT THE GROUND FIRST!!!!!
SAFETY FIRST!!!!
----------------------------- Guess I should say "half-rooster"... Woody's bad word filter didn't like the C-word ;D
