Went to KY this weekend, Saturday saw the rear end of one through some thick stuff - that was it. Sunday morning there still was fog in the field I was hunting even after it got light and I had 1 then 2 does come toward me out of the fog; it was really great seeing them come in like that, would have been great to have it on video; shot the bigger one at about 50yds. First deer with the 260REM and I was impressed, she dropped on the spot and never even kicked. Sunday night had a doe and little one come out of the woods ~70yds left and opposite me and they were on the move, the doe kept looking behind her. A few min. later saw 2 more deer though the woods on the move and they were flying. Talked my friend's son-in-law who was hunting the front side of the farm and he said he heard quite a commotion back behind him, we're wondering if we might have had coyotes doing some hunting as well.

I'm a little disappointed Henderson, I would have liked to have had another but I'm happy with the one I harvested. I had a chance to take a 2nd. After I shot the doe I saw a 6 point by the edge of the woods at around 80yds, he must have come in while I was watching the does. He had very long beams for a 1.5yr old but not long tines, kind of odd looking. I took an offhand shot and missed, I was worried about loosing him into the woods and I had just shot the doe so he was sort of nervous; I rushed the shot. I was still sort of mad at myself yesterday- it's been an different season this year.
