sure there is some real morons on public but i use that to my advantage. I think that really only applies during general firearms season, and then really just the first 5 to 7 days of general firearms. I don't think I have ever had a problem with a fellow hunter during Archery or Muzzleloader seasons. I have private ground to hunt and I hunt alot on public.

Access to some of the better areas has kind of kept me out. I know the hunting in some areas of Yellowwood and Morgan Monroe is outstanding, just two mile hike up and down to get there! Kind of creates the situation where the perimeter adjoining owners get the spoils if they don't grant access.

I pretty much do all of my hunting on private ground these days...I'll still go hit some public ground around Orange county a couple times in bow season though...

I can't tell if that is a statement or a question. Try using a little punctuation, capitolization, etc. duck. You are not texting here.

Fantastic deer! I prefer private land, but may check out Morgan Monroe in bow and muzzle loader, once we move down there.

If I had a LARGE tract of private, I would probably hunt it 80% of the time. I just don't care to be limited to 20,40, or even 100 acres of ground. Neither do I like to hunt anywhere I can see and hear cars driving by. I also never much cared for hunting over crop fields. That has pretty much narrowed my choices to the HNF. It just wouldn't be deer hunting for me without the big woods, a deer camp and a meatpole.

As my private spots continue to get swallowed by subdivisions, I may need to try public areas for the first time this fall. I keep knocking on doors, so you never know.

I spend about 70% of archery and muzzleloader season hunting public ground but only about 20% of firearms. There are some nice bucks killed on public ground here every year during firearms season but it is just not worth the risk of getting shot to hunt it. With the number of people who stray off of public onto private land, the difference in safety is not as great as it once was.

I hunted both public and private lands this past season. I would say it was a 50/50 split. Funny thing is that I had just as much trouble on private versus public lands. The neighbors allowed their Lab to run loose; so take your pick: dogs ruining your hunt or humans.

I've never had any luck hunting Deer on public lands. I own my own land now; and also consider private lands much beter and safer than public lands for hunting.

Good News while we are on the subject is that my Son is 15 and strong enough to pull a traditional bow; so Bow season for us on public lands. Well that is if I can pry him off the phone from his "friend" who just happens to be a girl.
