... for total deer seen. I saw 53 deer while hunting today. Granted many of them were on the run, but it was truly amazing. I could have killed a dozen of them. I didn't get a shot at a shooter buck though, so I am still antler hunting. I did take a mature doe. She is the biggest doe I have killed in a long time. She had to be pushing 150 pounds live weight.

It must be something to hunt in an area were you see so many deer. I live in Ontario and have hunted my whole life. I went some years without even seeing a deer. This year I've spent close to 150 hours hunting and I've seen 5 deer total. Shot one buck and missed another. Funny this year all the deer I've seen have been bucks, no does or fawns. Guess a trade off might be we can get some real heavy wieghts up here.

I'd like to see that many just once. I think my record is 10 or so. Must have been fun!

I am blessed to be able to hunt in a county where there are probably over 50 deer per square mile and probably a lot more than that in the part of the county I hunt. If you go out and hunt for 2 hours and don't see any deer, it is a really bad hunt. I get spoiled. I keep a log and I usually average about 3 deer sightings per hour on stand when I total everything up. I would like to think that I am dedicated enough to still hunt even if I hunted an area where deer were much less densely populated, but I really don't know. Part of the appeal of hunting for me is the confidence that I am going to see some deer everytime out.

I live in a good area but no where near what metamora has.

That has to be on private land cause I'm like bigugly, I hunt HNF and put in over 150 hours easy and may see 10 deer total, I usuallly see more hunters than deer.
