Here's my fave:
I was watching the sprout today, and as she bounced around in her exer-saucer ( a worthwhile investment, BTW) I was watching a HS Primetime video from 2005. One of the dudes was up in his perch taking forever to shoot this awesome twelve pointer. All of the sudden the buck runs off. The camera spins and there is this big six point coming in all puffed up. The announcer says "Amazingly, the 12 pointer runs away from the six pointer..."
Why wouldn't the twelve run? It was outclassed. I have found this myth to be very common. People think a smaller deer with big antlers will intimidate a bigger deer with a lesser crown. A friend of mine told of a battle he witnessed between two more or less equal-sized deer, one a six and one with eight or more points. He said "You wouldn't believe it, but the six won!" *sigh*
Suppose Humans mated the same way as deer, and you have some gorgeous broad cornered. She's hot to trot, but before things can commence, here comes a guy half your size with the best head of hair you've ever seen. Oh no! You are afflicted with male pattern baldness. Chastened, you slink away, leaving the girl with a 90 lb. man with 1980's metal hair.
Yeah, right.
What is your favorite myth??

The best way to kill an older buck is to hunt over a (his) scrape, comes to mind.

You can tell how old a buck is by counting the points.
The non-hunter myth: It must be easy to kill a deer, I see them in my yard and on the side of the road all of the time

deer can't smell rubber boots or are not alarmed to the scent, most guys figure it out eventually

Shortening and moving the gun season out of the rut will allow Indiana to be just like _________________ (pick a state)..

Deer are armor plated and need a 12ga/.578 Belted RUM to kill them at ranges of over 12 feet...

You need to stay out of the woods before season or you will blow the deer out of the area.....
