Can a guy show up early to a state park hunt and be selected to hunt in place of a registered no-show? Thanks for any information!

None of the parks that I know of take stand-by hunters. You might call the deer hot line in Indy and ask to make sure. h.h.

Nope no parks will let you. They're strict that you MUST be drawn.

They are working on developing a policy to allow for a "waiting list" approach, but as of now they do not allow anyone to hunt unless they have been drawn.

Thanks guys....just as I figured, but, thought I would ask. Guess it's coyote calling and recurve doe hunting time then! Thanks again! Hoosier.

It is a waste because many of the picked hunters don't show up. I think they should keep a list of the "no shows" and not allow them to be picked the next year.

That makes sense (barring somthing unavoidable like surgery/being hit by a truck...). I'm keeping my fingers crossed and my gun loaded for my DSP hunt...
