I am going to hunt a funnel where two creek beds come together. The plans is to hang out in my Summit climber around 18' in the air and see what comes my way. I plan on using my scoped Super BlackHawk Hunter in .44 mag for this opening weekend. I can't wait...it looks like it will be cold too!

Early up with the kids. In the woods well before daylight. Might get group together for lunch (depends or how the morning goes). Leave the woods after legal shooting light fades away. Hopefully it will be cold enough to leave field dresed deer lay until dark.

I will be in a stand overlooking some bottom ground CRP/WRP that is 5 years old.
Plan on being there well before first light and will come down when it gets dark or I shoot something .... whichever comes first.

Me and my buddy are setting up in a 120 acre patch of private woods he got permission for us to hunt, he has seen alot of sign and deer and has 2 ladder stands set up to hunt from,,I will take my climber so he can use the ladder stand to shoot the video out of, will be using my bow to take a doe first (hopefully) would like to make good use of my $24 bow tag b4 spending another $24 on a gun tag for my muzzle loader. Hopefully we both will score well that day, he saw a 17 pointer 3 times last week there, so hopefully either 1 of us will get a chance at it

Here's my thinking. 1. Get up early Sat in KY, get ready to go out. 2. Grab Model 7 rifle in 260. 3. Get in truck with partner. 4. Go to whichever farm he's thinking is best and we work out with the kids (both have been good to us). 5. Go to spot and make ready. 6. Put 140gr Gameking in deer. 7. Put 140gr Gameking in another deer 8. Hammer #3 - I'm done! (Oh well, what would I do on Sunday if it went like that anyway.)

Well I was going to chicken out of Opening Day on Public Lands. Just got back from Dicks with a Climber. So I guess I'll be practicing climbing this week and on Opening Day going in very early and sitting on my new climber. Weather shouldn't be too cold so I guess it's a good weekend for a first timer. Been using Ground Blinds the last two seasons.

My plan: Arrive at the HNF early Friday to setup camp. Start drinking my favorite cold beverages while waiting on the rest of the guys to get there. Sit around all night while continuing to drink said cold beverages and giving each other a hard time about anything and everything. Get up early Saturday morning wishing we had not stayed up so late and drank all of those cold beverages the night before. Drive to Lawrence county for the morning hunt. Come out of woods around noon or so and meet the rest of the guys at a local eatery for some lunch. Back to the woods until dark. Head back to camp to repeat the previous nights activities.

My gameplan is this...... Get in as early as I can with my bow, get up in a tree with my climber at 25 feet MINIMUM.. and get ready for the deer to come running.
