Finally got my first shot of the season last night and scored on a small doe. Got her in the heart but it wasn't a pass through. Not much blood and had to track little drops on my hands and knees through a thicket. Got her quarterd up last night and slept in this morning (on vacation) and did more butchering.
Got back in the tree about 1:30 this afternoon and had a small 8 pointer come in at 2:20. Being in the urban zone I decided to take him. He walked right by at about 6 yards and I had to talk to him to get him to stop. He ran about 40 yards and fell over. A coyote came running in after he fell. I have never seen that before. I had to yell at him to leave. Started pouring when I was dragging him and hasn't stopped since. I know this thread is useless without pictures but I don't have any. Sorry!

Good deal! I know you've been out quite a bit lately. Congrats. Now that you have meat, let's go get some GEESE!
