Long story shorter.....Hunted in standing corn next to a shelled swath along a creek this afternoon. At 5:30 a big doe came from the creek and into the standing corn 100 yards to the North. At 5:50 I saw a buck 200 yards to the North and heading my way along the edge of the standing corn. He stopped where the doe had entered the corn earlier. I bleated at him and the 3rd bleat convinced him to come. He stopped 30 FEET away and facing me...I was at full draw already...I wasn't sure all stalks were clear and didn't want to shoot him straight on...this went on for 40 seconds when something (coyote?) bolted from behind me! The buck stood another 20 seconds then bolted the way he had come and entered the standing corn where the doe had earlier!!! He was the first buck I have seen that I would shoot since opener. Dark cape and a 160 for sure. Think he may use the same route in the next couple of days or are we into the chasing stage too far?

This time of year, one place is as good as the next I suppose. Try the spot again. Maybe he'll show again.
I saw a nice ten point standing in the middle of the road driving home this morning. I rolled the window down and "talked trash" to him as he stood on the hillside.
