Almost missed this one (and I will miss the meeting since it is today) but the NRC Advisory Council is considering modifying the rules for game breeders including cervid farmers: www.in.gov/nrc/files/Item_7.pdf HatchetJack

Just a quick glance didn't raise any concerns here-kind of glad to see the changes in fact.

These rule apparently are intend for the Deer/Elk Farmers not the huntingoperations. Note I received yesterday:
"Jack – good question. The amended rules for game breeder licenses relates only to game breeders and "cervid livestock operations." People with this license have the ability to sell the parts or the live animals they raise - in state and out of state - for legal purposes only. In Indiana, high-fenced hunting is illegal, and we will continue to fight the lawsuit. Our staff has had a series of meetings with the main association of these folks to make this very clear, and to find reasonable ways for deer and elk farmers to make a living that does not involve fenced hunting."
Obviously the IDNR still regards the hunting operations as illegal and continue to pursue the court case. The clarifications are indeed welcome for both the cervid farmers and the law enforcement folks.
