Nice meeting you today.
We could put my Son on the porch and he could use that railing for a rest!

I had a very nice buck sneak right up behind me last night. He hada really skinny mass to the rack but it was very tall and much wider than his ears. He was about 30 feet from me when I shot and he heard the string and jumped the arrow. I was hunting from the ground. I stayed still and about 20 minutes later I had a doe walk within maybe 20 feet of me but when I tried to turn around to get a shot on her one of the arrows rubbed the tree and she heard it and bolted. After that I was so disgusted that I went home.
It was a great evening though.

I hear the "disgusted so I went home", Harley!
Last night I saw 4 different does and two fawns. All in pairs. Was at full draw twice, the first time I would have had a good shot if I'd been able to hold it for 15 seconds longer... After that one and a second doe (that I had drawn on but didn't have a shot at) blew at me, about 1/2 hour apart, I gave up and went home too. I think the bucket I was sitting on was a little too white and they were picking up on it. No way they could scent me. All happened between 1830 and 1900....
The two fawns were together, without any other does. They were picking their way through the woods, bleating as they went. Would have had a shot at one, had I been ready but I wasn't.
