Did anyone have Big Oaks as their first choice and not get drawn? The reason I ask is my dad and brother both got drawn for Big Oaks and it was their second choice. I just was wondering if they go through everyones first choice then their second choice or if they put their name in both hats and which ever one gets drawn is the one they get.

I applied for Crane first, Atterbury second. Didn't hear anything from Crane, and got nov. 25 at Atterbury. Going to Big Oaks with a friend of mine that got nov. 17 and 18.

My buddy got drawn for Nov 5 and I got drawn for Nov 10 and Nov 11 gun hunts. We both put in for first choice big oaks and we both have hunters ed. We got drawn for the identical hunts last year. We both love hunting there.

My feeling about military draw hunts is that those with partners got drawn first those that were lone applicants got disqualified.

Big Oaks was the first choice; Crane was second. My brother and I got drawn for the Nov. 4th gun hunt at Big Oaks. With my luck on weather on military/refuge hunts of the recent past, I expect, on that day, torrential downpours, criss-crossing tornadoes, and a hurricane coming up the Ohio Valley. Otherwise I really am looking forward to this hunt. ;D

I got drawn for the Oct. 27-28 bow hunt. I don't know much about Big Oaks other than I'm hunting in zone 30.
