Remember back in 2007 where I warned 'yall about that "common sense" bit of NRA supported Gun Control called HR2640? BOHICA. "When banning guns gets tough, finding ways to ban gun owners can accomplish the same end. Take Nassau County, N.Y., for example..." "The Nassau County Police Department (ncpd) oversees the issuance of handgun licenses, which must be renewed every five years. Last year, the ncpd added a new question to the application: “Have you used or still use [sic] narcotics, tranquilizers or antidepressant medication? If yes, record doctor’s name, address and phone number, (attach).” A list of all relevant medications is required... (i.e.) If you don’t disclose the Vicodin you took for pain for a few days 15 years ago, you’ve falsified a government form, and committed a crime..." davekopel.org/2A/Mags/AFF%201208%20Poison%20Pill.pdfWho needs to Ban Guns when you can "Prohibit People" and use Constructive Possession to keep anyone else in the household from possessing guns?

I agreed with you then and i agree with you now. However well intended a law is, it can (and will) eventually be abused.

Yep. That's the way it comes, and the way our liberties go.
So many people stand ready to reject the candidate who states outright that they will try to take away our rights to keep and bear arms, but support the one who proposes "common sense" gun laws.
Folks, there are no common sense gun laws.
Common sense tells you that only law-abiding people will obey gun laws, so the only possible effect of such laws is to disarm some portion of the law-abiding public, leaving them without their constitutionally guaranteed right to self-defense.
We already have thousands of gun laws that bar the criminally inclined from possessing firearms. The criminally inclined don't mind breaking those laws at all.
Some of those laws also bar the mentally ill from such possession. The mentally ill who want to own a weapon don't seem to mind the laws either.
The only possible actual effect of any gun law is to prevent some person who wants to remain legal from possessing a weapon of his choice.
These are the very people we would all benefit from arming, to better protect themselves and us from the criminally inclined and the mentally ill who will ignore the laws and use whatever weapon they choose.
