Report; Illinois Governor Taken Into Federal Custody
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was pulled from his home in Chicago and put in federal custody Tuesday morning.
The Tribune said federal authorities were permitted by a judge to record the governor secretly before the November election after raising concerns that a replacement for President-elect Barack Obama would be tainted. That's the latest in an investigation that has included recordings of the governor and the cooperation of one of his closest friends.
The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm the information to FOX News.
A Blagojevich spokesman said he was unaware of the development.
"Haven't heard anything -- you are first to call," Lucio Guerrero said in an e-mail.

Comes as no surprise. I just hope that the New Administration does taint the process after Obama becomes President.

It sounds like that the Feds were fairly sure Blago was going to "close the deal" on selling Obama's Senate Seat so they pulled the plug...

Something about Blago has always rubbed me the wrong way. What a greedy, disgusting scumbag. If he has even the slightest shred of decency and integrity (which he apparently doesn't), he'll step down as soon as he is able. Why do I get the feeling that he is going to get off lightly, though?

One word answer,Obama. I dunno... the O-man's Handlers in ChiTown are smarter than that. If The One pardons Blago or removes/promotes Fitz, then he will prove categorically that he's an empty-suit/Daley's man. Daley won't let him do that because Barry's survival in the White House is the only path for Little Richie III to become POTUS. No, His Odiforousness will let Blago squirm under the bus. It will be up to Da Emperor to keep him from squealing too loud, since Blago can do more damage to The Machine/Outfit than to America's Organizer...
