I've never heard of so many instances of bad ammo. Strange!
I have only experienced this once, a long time ago, with one box of Remington .30/06 rounds. Two rounds did not fire in that box.

I was sitting here reading post and thought the same thing, Thats Odd? I had a couple mis-fires but i ran it down to a dirty Breechplug in ML.

I have had .22 rimfires misfire from time to time, but I can count the duds from other ammo on one hand. In fact, I can only remember one, a bad .45 round.
Maybe the excessive moisture exploited defects in the ammo? I tried to fire my dud the next day to no avail.

I had a couple of failures from a box of Remington .243 ammo several years back. The primers showed a good hit, they just failed to fire. My son in law missed a good deer due to one of these failures. By the way, we were hunting in Maryland where rifles are legal for deer. parson

You never know; IIRC the first misfire of a factory shotgun shell was after about 3,00o rounds. I started reloading and had a bad 209 primer in my first 50 loads. So who knows. But I was thinking the same thing when I read the post about the misfires. Than again my friend was using a M/L on opening day and was worried about the rain causing a misfire; well he had problems, the M/L went boom when it pulled the tigger now if only he hit the deer :-)
