Bush was terrible, so the electorate decided to hire Obama, but the Dem controlled Congress was WORSE (had even lower approval numbers than Bush) yet not only were the worst retained, the electorate added MORE people with the same anti Freedom/anti RKBA bent.
Now, does that make any sense at all?
BO can't stink up the country, he's just the President. But now that he's there to rubber stamp Reid, Pelosi, Shumer, Boxer, Kennedy, McCarthy and all the other big city, gun owner hating lifetime politicians who now have total control of all 4 (yes, 4 - counting the MSM) branches of government, people think all will be well and their guns/RKBA isn't in jeproady?
That is blind insanity.

Many of the Dem are from states with strong hunting and shooting traditions. I don't think the is an overwhelming consensus in the Dem Party beside anti-Bush. In victory they will find defeat. We need to stay involved in the progress and address the issues and educate our fellow citizens. Calling Obama an Arab, terrorist, etc isn't going to get us anywhere. OI not saying that you said that in your post. Addressing some of the overriding views I've seen on this site (not so much) and other sites mainly. This was an Anti Bush vote and the Tsunami that was the Wall St. woes didn't help the party in power. McCain comment "the fundamentals of the economy are good" didn't help.

While the dummycraps and the other liberals will most certainly go for increased regulation of guns and outright bans, they learned a bitter lesson about them over two election cycles and will approach with caution. I figure they'll rush to reinstate the AWB first, then use it to slowly ban one gun after another until few if any are left. This will probably be combined with repressive restrictions and major tax hikes on ammo, which is much easier to eliminate since it doesn't enjoy constitutional protection.

I also believe they will come at firearms from the ammunition angle. Not only do they not have that bothersome Constitution in the way, it's also very easy to convince the ignorants that the environment is in dire jeopardy from lead and powder smoke. If you want to drum up support for anything, just cite the environment, it always works. Heck, it even convinced the union coal workers to vote for Obama after he said he would bankrupt the coal industry! I didn't think it was possible to stab yourself in the back, but a lot of people managed to do so this election year.
