I figured I'd get an early jump on saying this because it is inevitable... so.... I told you so:
When Obama's big-government fiscal policies fail to drive investment and do nothing but add to our national debt....
When small businesses are crushed under the weight of increased taxes and fees from the Federal Government...
When Obama's Health Care plan goes up in flames because there was no substance to it to begin with...
When Democrats, who control both the congress and senate, can't get anything done and implode because of the many differences in their agenda, and congressional approval ratings drop to levels not thought of in the previous 8 years....
When the USA is the laughing stock of the world as Obama is pushed around by world leaders who knowingly exploit his inexperience and his inaction...
When in the 2010 mid-term elections the republicans make stunning gains in the house and senate as American's realize they didn't want a Liberal/Socialist agenda....
When Obama supporters become disenfranchised because of the lack of entitlements that they were expecting and that the "hope of change" was nothing but an empty campaign promise...
When thousands more jobs are lost because of the increase in Capital Gains taxes....
When trillions of dollars of Capital leaves the country because of an anti-business sentiment....
When Republican's find their way back home and get back to fiscal policies of smaller government and letting the people control their own money....
When Obama appoints justices to the court who espouse State rights on property, not individual rights...
and finally...
When 4 years from now, a Republican in the mold and Charisma of Reagan soundly beats Obama because the people were sick and tired of experiencing Jimmy Carter's 2nd Term!

Here's grim... and more specific:
What I see coming
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If The Messiah gets his way, and with most of Congress being of his party, here are a few things I see happening-
The "Fairness Doctrine" will pass and effectively muzzle any dissenting radio programs and probably TV programs. IOW- Kiss Rush, Hannity, Beck goodbye. Prepare for a nuetered Fox News.
Freedom of speech will effectively cease if it goes contrary to the Obama administrations policies. Wilson got away with it in WW1 and FDR to a lesser extent in WW2.
The Patriot Act will not be revoked, the sinister parts of it will be used against those who fight The Messiah.
The Bush tax cuts will expire and whatever "tax cut" The Messiah and his party "gives us" will be more than offset by increases cost of living and other taxes put on us in order to finance the Obama give aways. Those give aways will go to the non-producers in the nation.
Guns? Forget it. Obama will get 2 SCOTUS appoinments that make Bader-Ginsberg look like a flamming Conservative. Before 2010 we will see: * Handgun ammunition taxes, * Military Caliber Ammunition Taxes, (no more .308 or .223, or...) * EPA Bans on Lead in hunting ammunition, * EPA Bans on Lead in Indoor Range ammunition, * EPA "Remediation" requirements for Lead "contamination" on established Gun Ranges. Like The One said... "You can still build a coal plant" (or shoot) "but we will bankrupt you."
International relations- Europe will love him. Africa will love him. The Chinese probably own him already. Iran will love him and so will much of the rest of the Middle East, except for Israel who he will abandon. Expect Israel to attack Iran within a few months and a hot general war to begin in the region.
Energy costs will skyrocket to unbelieveable levels. $10-12.00 a gallon gas and $12-15.00 diesel are probable and that is before his new taxes that will be added on. Electricity costs will probably be 6-8 times what they are now, again, before new taxes. No nuke plants will be built and offshore oil, ANWR, etc. will be untouchable.
Debt- Depending on what you look at our current national debt is as high as 43 TRILLION dollars. That will only get worse. Stimulus packages will continue, the dollar will fall, the books will be cooked. Savings and 401K type plans will be seized and nationalized and considered part of Social Security or something similar.
General economic trends- The auto/transortation, insurance, banking, defense and medical industries will be nationalized. Unions will be morepowerful and corrupt than at present, Unions will force their way into many current non-union areas. Workers will enjoy a generally lower standard of living, reduced buying power and limited voice in decisions in their Unions.
Health care- No doubt a nationalized health care system offering a lowered expectation of services, poor choices, HUGE costs, and limited right to making your own decisions will be emplaced. Hospitals will fail and the Fed Gov't will "buy" them. Health care decisions will be based on dollar value.
NAIS- The National Animal Identification System will be passed and every animal in the nation will be required to have an ID number and possibly a microchip implanted. The costs will rest soley with the owner and the record keeping costs will also be their responsibility. A new buearacracy will be born and funded.
Cap in Trade (carbon emmision caps)- This will pass and drive energy costs beyond anything ever imagined. Sectors of the energy industries will fail and gov't will nationalize them.
Personal freedoms- A new form of political correctness will spring up. Dissenting voices will be stifled by law. Where this will start and end I don't know, but I expect something akin to the Fairness Doctrine to be applied to the internet. Bias related laws will be applied to dissenting voices. Sedition laws may be applied to those who speak out against Obama or his partners.
Reperations- Stand by for some form of slavery reparations, either outright payments or a less recognizable form of payment. Affirmative action will renew itself and reverse discrimination will become common place and accepted.
Illegal immigration- No change.
Infrastructure- Deteriorates while "feel good" programs get funding.
Defense- No real change will happen at first. Obama will discover he can't withdraw troops from Iraq or Afganistan without leaving a huge power/gov't vaccuum. He may well do it anyway. He'll cut defense spending or at least many programs and probably try and negotiate with Iraq, China, North Korea as a "friend". This will backfire and he'll be left looking inept, although it will be spun to look like a victory. His personal 250K "civilian national security force" will become the equivilant of the Nazi Brownshirts or SS and be more intersted in forcing "right thinking" on US citizens and quelling dissent than defense. War will erupt in the Middle East when he abandons Israel and we'll be drawn into it when our "friends" attack us.
In short, I have little hope for the future. I seriously doubt our future has any bright spots for 2-4 yearsat least. Only by fighting him and the media at every turn will we slow things. I have little hope that the kool aid drinkers will see the truth until it's too late.

Hey.....
You forgot about the increased budget for the Central Intelligence Agency.......the irony of him having more protection via people carrying guns.

OI, your imagination(or cut and paste) is a bit over dramatic. Obama is a socialist, not an anarchist, socialists invade slowly from within and have no desire to decimate the very prize they seek. They milk it for what it's worth over the long term, and therefore have every incentive to keep the cow alive, albeit hobbled and weakened.

So actually the only inaccuracy in O.I.'s post would be the time line, because socialism always results in anarchy in the end. IMO, the more likely scenario is the one posted by hoosiercanuck. The American people as a whole are terribly impatient and have incredibly short memories, as well as suffering from a complete lack of attention to history. We insist on continuing the bad habit of periodically dabbling in socialism every time the economy weakens, even though it always ends in disaster. For those who would make the claim that FDR and his New Deal socialist policies lifted the country from the depths of depression, I say that if you study that era rather closely, it's difficult not to come to the conclusion that the causal effect on economic activity that ended the depression was pure and simply WW II. I think O.I. is wrong. I don't believe the American people will allow the country to plunge into the abyss. IMO, we're going to have to tighten our belts and stiffen our lips for the next four years, practice damage control, and fight this rise of the socialist agenda tooth and nail until the people come to their senses and throw the bums out for a more conservative governance.

I already told you so. Here's the next.
Opposition will attempt to be suppressed. It wont allow it in which case the people will be asked and give the legal authority for it to take place. What they fail to realize is that they will be giving their own rite to oppose those in power away. Something they will need because the removal of opposition wont fix the problem. They will try and oppose but will be removed just as the others were, by any means necessary. The countries resources will be so depleted that an outside source will take the country thus bringing to a close this nations history.
There is one solution to this scenario and it was the solution for the republicans before the election. The free market, they must completely over haul their moral compass and once again put the counties needs first. This must be done before the problems escalate and there by gain the trust of the people in which case the people wont give the powers that be the authority to remove them.
It has always been in the control of the free market and will be until the people give up their rites, which could be in four years.
The republicans turned a blind eye to the raping of this country by big oil, now the country has turned a blind eye to you. You are responsible for this outcome.

Big oil raped this country, yet up until just before the election (and really throughout it) we had the cheapest Petrol prices in the world (except Venezuela)... How does that compute?

As I said in another post, as long as gas is cheap, we will promptly forget about the need to get off foreign oil dependence. SUVs will sell again, people won't conserve, domestic drilling will slow way down, Hybrids and electric cars etc. will go to the back burner.

Maybe I'm reading your wrong and I certainly could be, but it sure seems like you are promoting a true free market while simultaneously promoting government intervention in so called "Big Oil". Those two ideas are mutually exclusive, you simply can not have a true free market AND government meddling.
