Well Boys since i never contributed last year, I thought i would get us started. Shot a doe this Morning, Man the woods was quite this Morning and if felt like something was going to happen, So about 8 i hit the can a few times and grunted (nothing) Waited and then thought i would try again but this time i hit the Horns together with a few Grunts and Nothing, It was about 9am and poured me some coffee and was watching some birds, when all of a sudden i heard a noise down in the bottom and saw deer running i could see it was a young Buck chasing, He looked to be a small 6 or smaller and ran the ladies right to me, i was ready with bow in hand and they hung up about 70 yards out, then they started to slowly walk to me, and the buck was still looking for the does, I shot the 2nd doe as she was little bigger, when they ran off the buck came right up the hill (must of saw them) and he gave me a shot, but with only 1 tag i passed, I stayed in my seat for about an hour after the shot, and here came another Buck, but he was alot bigger he stood there looking for something and walked about 15 yards from me could of shot him(chip shot), But with hunting on the Reservoir, I didn't want to chance it, after i let him walk i thought i should of shot him and went and bought another Tag, but taking two deer out and i was a long ways back in there, hunting solo, and a bad Knee, I saved him for another day, and iam going to have to find someone to hunt with thats a long drag out, even with a cart it is tough on me. Well got to cut her up and will be back out tomorrow pm. I know there up and chasing now, and all the crops are out also, I think with some cooler weather, it should be real good the next couple weeks. I get to sling some lead this weekend at Big Oaks, hope things are going good down there? Taking my Nephew he's never been on a Draw Hunt, and he's fired up, getting out of school early Friday, so that we can take the class early, and drive around and hit the bed early so we can spend the whole day in the woods.

See it's fun out in deer woods especially if you have action like that. Sounds like the deer hunting sickness has got you again, and that is a good thing! Congrats on the kill.

Nice job!
I've a completely rotten start to my season. Landowner on my honey hole property threw me for a loop when he called me the night before opening day and said I couldnt hunt until the corn was out. I've seen a total of 7 deer so far this year, 5 the same morning hunt. They're picking corn up there right now so I should be back on track next week. We'll get there !

7x, just out of curiosity, what was his reasoning for waiting till the corn was out???

He has a new tennant farmer who is paying high dollar to farm. He said he was afraid of me shooting a deer and it tearing up corn when it ran into it and died ! I've hunted on him for the better part of 15 years and never ruined any crops. This guy comes up with some odd things and I just never know what its gonna be. A couple of years ago opening weekend of shotgun he told me since I hunted in bow season he was gonna let his sons FIL hunt during gun. Its 280 acres so its not like we would be crowded. He also expected me to be Ok with this guy hunting my stands! I told him that wasnt going to work for me. If he wanted to hunt he needed to scout and hang his own stands. The guy hunted once...and the landowner had to go get him from his stand because he thought he was having a heart attack.
The place is loaded with deer and I dont shoot young bucks off of it. So unfortunately I go along with whatever he comes up with in order to keep hunting it.
