Has anyone used a decoy before? Have any luck with it if you did.

I bought a Montana doe decoy last winter, just so I can give it a try this Fall. I'm gonna wait to use it here in late Oct. / Early November. I'll post the results!

All those gadgets look like they work well on TV Rural King had and a nice full size buck decoy. The head was like a "bobble-head' and slowly moved back and forth with the wind along with the tail.

They work! I use one like the one pictured. Its easy to carry and easy to set up. Works really good during the rut. My son used it two years ago to take his first buck, an 8pt that went 140".

Do they work better during rut, or anytime?

I used mine twice last year and killed a deer with it both times... Depending on what your after it can help or harm you. If you want a big buck then it will help with that (assuming you have some in the area) if you have the antlers on it.... but it will scare most of your smaller bucks away. I killed a doe with it the first time I used it and had the antlers on it.... she was HOT stood in front of him with her tail in the air.... Next day I used it again and killed a nice 11 pointer.... he came right in to it looking for a fight.

One thing about the Montana, it's collapsable fabric that can literally fold up into a backback....but I have some concern over using mine on a bright-sun day. I don' think the fabric will glare, but I don't want to take the chance so I'm only going to use it on cloud covered days.
