My sit on stand was uneventful, as I saw one deer running from something at a distance.
I was walking back to the car and spooked a deer standing in a field.
Then, I spot a bunch of deer out by the road in a field many yards away. I chose to wait for the deer to leave so I wouldn't spook them, but a car came along and spooked them for me. There were more deer than I thought, at least 16, and they were running toward the house I was behind! I ran to the far side of the house and drew my bow, just as three deer zipped through the small gap between the house and the brush. Dang! Didn't get a chance to stop them. I waited a few seconds and another blew by at 20 yards like it had a rocket up it's hind end, and that was it.
I saw three or four more deer driving out!
An exciting start, anyway.

I Saw 5 deer today and had one button buck about 15 yards away for over half an hour...... his sister would not step in to a shooting lane... and he just hung out in them the entire time.

Saw 4 small/medium size buck in the morning (3 small 6 pointers and a small 8). They were all together and went back and forth sparring with each other playfully. I saw them about 20 minutes after shoot time for about 15 minutes. They spent the whole time sparring with each other and drinking around a quarry. I was hoping a couple pigs would show themselves, but apparently this was a middle school party. After they left the area that's the last deer I saw the rest of the day. It was pretty windy in the afternoon, so I picked a stand I thought I would see quite a bit of movement (nope). Not a deer. I was kind a bummed. It could have been worse I guess I could have got skunked. Glad you guys are seeing movement. Oh ya, I scared a couple deer when I was walking out of the woods at night. Thats par for the course for me.

At least we are seeing deer. As for me, I usually see sixteen deer during the entire archery season, not in one day!!

My opening day was kinda neat, Gto the holy crap scared out of me buy a couple young coons, sounded as several deer were moving my way, they ended up right under my stand and fought for a few, Did watch a young deer with Mom cross a crick, and about 1 hour later saw a couple doe's walking out of the corn to the crick, get a drink and back to the corn, No shots either time, Had a Great time,( Not at work), Hunting solo, and had the woods to myself. Alot of corn still standing along with beans, the beans were planted late so it may be awhile, corn still got alot of Green in it as well. Will probably limit my hunts till Vacation and finish up a few Chores, still have a few pc to rebuild, wife leaveing for Ky Friday have the weekend to myself, may go to Sportmans Warehouse and look at new sights, and take the boy out to dinner @purdue, but may hit the LazeyBoy and not move. I never get to excited about early archery, later this month I"ll be in the woods all day?
