This year i'm having to hunt a bit different then normal. This is my first year not on my normal land (owner sold out)I have hunted this land for 14 yr and taken 22 deer i learned to hunt here so i was upset that all the memories i had were just sold out from me. Until today i have been scouting my new land for the past month, that all the time i had it,and i found this great spot were deer are crossing and bedding and feeding. I can home to get some gear to get set out just the basics i got my blind and my boy hes 3 he wanted to go with me in the worst way so i say what the heck ill do it. We packed our stuff up and took off for the woods. When we got to the woods he was amped up ready to go. We got to my spot and i told him what we were about to do and we went along and got it all done but somewhere in the middle of stomping down weeds and moving branches i stopped and took a good look around. Here we are me and my boy and were working on setting up my blind to go hunting. Now me and my kids go fishing all the time, but this was different then anything else. In that moment there was a great sense of pride.I cant explain it but i was overwhelming. I now get an idea of how my dad felt.
To anyone one out there who has kids PLEASE don't leave them at home . You have no idea what you will miss.

Sometimes in the midst of things we feel is gone wrong we can actually see it worked out for the best, all your memories from your old spot may not get to be relived again, but it sounds like you just had a memory start in the new spot that out weighs all the others. Congrats on the new spot and congrats on a whole new world thats opening up for you and your son
